Your Next Stage Event emerged from a profound passion for the music industry and a dedicated mission to impart knowledge to aspiring music enthusiasts seeking to forge their careers in this domain. When music-related job positions are discussed, many still get puzzled looks on their faces. This raises the question, why is it that professional careers in music are hardly discussed and often overseen though many seem to take major interest in them?

Universities habitually organize career orientation events which help bridge the academic with the professional, yet there has never been an event solely dedicated to promoting emerging careers in the event & music industry. We organize a one-day career orientation event which will host professional speakers within the industry, inviting students of all relevant studies to explore options in this new-found realm.

Our Goal

The main goal of the event is to educate students about the relevance of this sector of the entertainment industry. Music soundtracks our lives, and it’s not only artists who work hard to create memorable tracks, or festival producers who set up immersive experiences for fans; there are hundreds of other positions which form a swift-flowing business cycle behind the scenes. Students will realize that it truly works like any other business. Our goal is to facilitate students’ entry into the wide and challenging world of the music & event business. By displaying the range of opportunities available for students of all academic backgrounds at an inexpensive and focused event, they will understand the ways in which their majors could lead them to the industry while receiving exclusive insights from the biggest names in the scene. They will learn that they are already equipped with fundamental knowledge from their relative courses, which will tear down the wall of uncertainty and fear of the unknown.

The Event

There will be speakers from various fields within the music industry, from artist managers, to recruiters, to event organizers, branding specialists, financial consultants, and professionals with any kind of educational background. In this way, we ensure that we cover the most essential aspects of the industry’s back-end, highlighting the fact that it resembles any other business. With a series of presentations, panels, and discussions, the speakers will inform students about the technicalities of their careers, as well as propose opportunities for further exploration.

After the panels, there will be a networking carousel including established professionals and industry representatives, who will be taking personal questions from students and possibly offering positions within their own companies. This is beneficial for both students and companies alike, as graduating students receive exposure and opportunities, and companies can scout fresh talent. Providing the opportunity to make these valuable connections is one of the core objectives of the event, considered that a strong network has been proven essential when starting a career in this industry.

Furthermore, as creative business and music management courses are only offered at universities of applied sciences and on vocational colleges, this orientation will also be helpful for companies that are looking for prospective employees with more academic or research-based backgrounds, who will definitely bring different perspectives to their foundations. By the end of the event, we hope that all attendees have a general overview of the fundamentals of the music industry, which will hopefully motivate them to do their own research and potentially help those who are still confused about their future plans to make a commitment.
